The Mountwood Bird Club from Parkersburg, WV visited Killdeer Plains WMA last Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, then stopped by Delaware WMA, Hoover Reservoir, and Putnam Landing in Zanesville on the way home on Friday. Highlights were: Snow Goose - blue phase - 1 Bald Eagle - many views of at least 7 eagles. Northern Harrier - 15+ Rough-legged Hawk - 6 - 10 Sharp-shinned Hawk Cooper's Hawk Ring-necked Pheasant - 2 Barred Owl - 1 - heard Red-headed Woodpecker - 4 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1 NORTHERN SHRIKE - 1 Horned Lark American Tree Sparrow - many Chipping Sparrow - 1 - Beth & Eula White-crowned Sparrow Lapland Longspur - 50+ Snow Bunting - 150+ COMMON REDPOLL - 2 Delaware WMA Waterfowl: Canada Goose - several thousand Trumpeter Swan - 10 Tundra Swan - 2 Gadwall American Wigeon American Black Duck Mallard Northern Shoveler Northern Pintail Green-winged Teal Canvasback - Zanesville Redhead - Zanesville Ring-necked Duck Scaup - sp.
