Metzger:
Started at Metzger this morning and worked my way back home.

Metzger:  At least 400 tundra swans; they were packed pretty close together in
places.  Also mallard, gadwall, lesser scaup, American wigeon, redhead, common
goldeneye, coot.  Be advised the road is very icy.

Probably the least birdy I've ever seen it in winter - guess there's enough open
water elsewhere.  Only 15 Canadas (!), mallard, shoveler, bufflehead, wigeon,
gadwall.

Medusa Marsh:  It had a fair amount of open water.  Canadas, five tundra swans,
mallards, black ducks, gadwall, wigeon, 2 pintail.

Sheldon's Marsh:  Also not very birdy.  Chickadees, cardinals, woodpeckers,
robins, a brown creeper.

I arrived at the Avon Lake power plant just before Jen Brumfield; she gave me
the tip on the Barrow's goldeneye.  I spent 3:30 to 4:00 at Veteran's Park but
didn't see it.  Goldeneye numbers were down quite a bit from when she was there
only an hour or so earlier.
