While driving to the Forest Headquarters this morning (8:00 a.m.) I observed two swans at the gravel pit pond in the Circle Hill area. It lies along Rt. 33 just north of The Plains exit. They were at the far end of the pond, toward the Hocking River, making identification virtually impossible during an over the shoulder look at 60 mph ...just haven't gotten that skill down yet... : ) Would be interested in hearing what they may be if someone else is fortunate enough to make the identification. Chances are they are mute swans but not for certain....
