Waterfowl are moving along in good numbers in Hancock County. Saturday, Sue Ross and I did a walk around the small reservoir. Some of our highlights include: Tundra Swan 18 Gadwall 4 Am. Wigeon 2 Lesser Scaup ~175 Scaup sp. ~200. (Probably mostly Lessers) Red-breasted Merganser 125 Bufflehead 4 Common Goldeneye 3 Pied-billed Grebe 2 Double-crested Cormorant 3 Tree Swallow 1 Snow Bunting 2 (seems rather late) Afterwards I headed out to the Vanlue Lagoon Pits and picked up a hlaf dozen Shovelers and a Harrier. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
