COMMON RAVEN: The Common Raven in Knox County continues to be seen on and off. Reported areas are College Rd. x Koppert Rd., and in the nearby area along Reed Rd. HOARY REDPOLL: Wow! Two separate birds reported this week. Iım not sure which is a better story, so Iıll go chronologically. On 19 Mar, Steve Jones of LaRue reported a redpoll at his feeders, which he was reasonably cautious about calling a Hoary. After conferring with some experts, he is confident that the bird is indeed a Hoary. Steve continued to report the bird through 23 Mar until it went missing on 24 Mar. Steve was certain it was gone, but like some gracious act of God, the bird returned on 27 Mar! Directions from Steve: ³As far as directions, 166 front St in LaRue turn on to Front Street from Market street. Go across RR tracks, and it will be the 4th house on right...It's the only green house on the street I think so you should have no problem finding it.² Email Steve at sjones031 AT columbus.rr.com so he knows youıre coming. The bird has been off and on 8:30-3:30. Incredibly, ANOTHER individual has arrived at his feeders on 26 Mar, but was not present the following day. His first bird was a male, and this is a female. John will advise on the Ohiobirds listserv if it returns.
