Hi Everyone, Around our house, the arrival of the Common Grackles to our feeders is an important sign that Spring is coming, despite the cold. For the last few years, wešve also had occasional visits from Red-winged Blackbirds, and last week one of them graced us with a visit. There are still some White-throated Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos, and wešre still getting visits from Red-breasted Nuthatches. But this morning we had our first Brown-headed Cowbird of the year under the feeders. I have to acknowledge that this bird, a male, is very attractive in his new plumagebut somehow he doesnšt inspire the same overwhelmingly positive response as the Red-winged Blackbirds...
