I stopped by Gordon Park for half an hour today @ 2:45. Thousand? Gulls everywhere - Ring-billed and Herring flying non-stop and perched @ marina - LOUD!! Hundreds of Red-breasted Mergansers (males at least 5x more abundant) Dozens (2-3)of Hooded Mergansers none near shore - at least 50 yards out great colors Cormorants (1-2 dozen) flying back and forth Mute Swan (1) against breakwall in the marina Green-winged Teal (8-10) in the marina near the docks - very wary Mallards (less than a dozen) Not any birds near shore but i did walk out on the breakwall toward the east 'til it ended and there were quite a few closer-up looks at the birds. I actually found a Canada Goose already sitting on a nest just inside the breakwall in the marina. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
