Second winter Lesser Black-backed Gull on beach off Rt 73 at 2:30 pm with
Ring-billed Gulls, one Caspian Tern and four Spotted Sandpipers.  LBBG is
somewhat larger than RBGU, slate gray back darker than RBGU, dark tipped
grayish based bill, black primaries, brownish mottled upper wing coverts and
tertials, white head, face, neck and under parts, no white spot on upper
surface of primaries in flight, legs yellowish but not bright yellow, bird
not as large as Herring Gull, black band on white tail.
