I drove from Columbus to GLSM to see the Long-tailed Duck. It was still there--right across from the building with the sign that says St Marys Boat Club. I also visited the Fish Hatchery nearby and the Spillway area of the GLSM State Park. Here is my complete list: Ross's Goose (in the grassy area in front of the fish hatchery hq.) Canada Goose Graylag Goose (near spillway) Mallard Blue-winged Teal Northern Shoveler Ring-necked Duck Lesser Scaup Long-tailed Duck Bufflehead (2M, 4F in hatchery pond) Common Loon (1 at spillway, quite close in) Pied-billed Grebe Double-crested Cormorant Great Blue Heron Turkey Vulture Red-tailed Hawk (battling some Vultures) American Kestrel American Coot (200+) Killdeer (just 1) Ring-billed Gull Herring Gull Rock Pigeon Mourning Dove Downy Woodpecker American Crow American Robin European Starling Red-winged Blackbird Eastern Meadowlark Common Grackle House Sparrow Also a Raccoon crossing the road near the spillway I highly recommend the Pullman Bay Restaurant if you're in the area. The girl in the Park Office gave me a good map of the area. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
