A female Surf Scoter was at Antrum Lake this morning, in company with a pair of Bufflehead for part of the morning. Little else was on the lake, other than 2 Pied-billed Grebes. A hike around the surrounding trail found no big migrant fallout for landbirds, either, although 6 Gnatcatchers, 5 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 2 Yellow-thr. Warblers, and a singing Winter Wren were noteworthy.

Nearby Whetstone Park showed similar bird numbers, with 6 Gnatcatchers, 6 Ruby-crowns, 2 Pine Warblers, 2 Black-thr.Green Warblers, and an Ovenbird. Both parks had fair #s of White-thr. Sparrows and Song Sparrows, as well as a few Yellow-rumped warblers, but other migrants were mostly lacking. Hopefully, more will arrive when the weather clears off.
