There was a modest movement of birds on the lake this morning. there are still decent numbers of red-breasted mergansers. A few large groups of cormorants passed by. The only bird of note was a female long-tailed duck. Not a lot of migrating songbirds this morning. There were a few blackbirds and quite a few goldfinches and siskins Lakeshore Waterbird Survey Lakeshore Reservation, North Perry April 30, 2011, 600-930 Weather- clear Winds- S 5, Temp- 34-39 F Barometer- 30.16-30.21, Humidity-87-84, Dew point- 31-35 Waves- 1-2 feet, Flight direction- west Canada goose 14 Wood duck 2 LONG-TAILED DUCK 1 female Red-breasted merganser 584 Common Loon 1 Horned grebe 1 Double-crested cormorant 438 Ring-billed gull 270 Herring gull 21 Caspian tern 2 John Pogacnik 4765 Lockwood Road Perry, OH 44081 (440) 259-2751 ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
