I observed an unusual Robin pulling earthworms from the mud of Medina Dog Park, Homestead and Jefferson Ave. in the city of Medina at 12:50pm today. At first glance, the wings and tail appeared "shiny" or "reflectively light". Continuing looks in the overcast light revealed white outer primary wing feathers, white tail feathers, lighter-than-usual upper breast. When she(?) flew, the central tail feathers were dark but the adjacent ones were white. The mantle may have been light colored also. The white patterning was symmetrical and pleasant in flight. The bird continued to feed with other Robins for the 15 minutes I was there. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
