Another was found at Old Fart on 8 Apr (Dave Dariano), which was the second record for Seneca Co. Eurasian Wigeon: One was reported in pond 8b at Ottawa NWR on 9 Apr with American Wigeon. White-winged Scoter: Another was still present at Tappan Lake on 9 Apr (mult. obs.). One was at the upground reservoir at Killdeer Plains through 9 Apr (mult. obs.). Black Scoter: One was Swartzwalder Rd. at Funk Bottoms WA through 5 Apr (mult. obs.). Surf Scoter: Two were present at Sippo Lake in Canton on 4 Apr (Terry and Barb Sponseller). Another pair was at Evans Lake in Mahoning Co. on 7 Apr (Craig Holt). Long-tailed Duck: One adult male was present at the Saint Mary¹s Boat Club through 8 Apr (mult. obs.). A group of six were at Oberlin Reservoir on 9 Apr (Erik Bruder). Red-throated Loon: One was found at the upground reservoir at Killdeer Plains on 8 Apr (Bon Conlon and Bill Whan). Another was at Evans Lake in Mahoning Co. on 10 Apr (Craig Holt and mult. obs.). Red-necked Grebe: One was reported at the upground reservoir at Killdeer Plains on 8 Apr (Bob Conlon and Bill Whan). Another was at Evans Lake in Mahoning Co. through 10 Apr (Craig Holt and mult. obs). Eared Grebe: One has been present at Buck Creek SP in the southwest corner of the lake through 9 Apr (mult. obs.). Another in near breeding plumage was at E. 72nd St. in Cleveland through 7 Apr (mult. obs.). Yet another was seen at the upground reservoir at Killdeer Plains on 8 Apr (Bob Conlon and Bill Whan). WESTERN GREBE: Evans Lake is the waterbird hotspot in Mahoning Co. A Western Grebe was reported on 9 Apr and reported on 10 Apr (Craig Holt and mult. obs.). American White Pelican: Two were found in the middle of Evans Lake in Mahoning Co. on 7 Apr and reported through 10 Apr (Bob and Denise Lane and mult. obs.). Northern Goshawk: One juvenile fly by the hawk watch at Conneaut on 10 Apr. SWAINSON¹S HAWK: A light-phase juvenile was recorded at the Conneaut hawk watch on 10 Apr. Black-legged Kittiwake: One flew by John Pogacnik¹s House in Lake Co. with a flock of Bonaparte¹s Gulls on 10 Apr. LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE: One well-documented bird was located by Paul Hurtado in a field east of 8775 Brock Rd. in Plain City. Swainson¹s Thrush: One very early bird was reported from Jeffrey Park in Bexley on 6 Apr (Bill Whan). Western Meadowlark: One has been reported northwest of Holmesville by the Bobolink RBA through 9 Apr. HOARY REPOLL: Steve Jones of LaRue reported his redpoll at his feeders through 8 Apr. Directions from Steve: ³As far as directions, 166 front St in LaRue turn on to Front Street from Market street. Go across RR tracks, and it will be the 4th house on right...It's the only green house on the street I think so you should have no problem finding it.² The bird has been off and on 7:30-3:30.
