The additions of a Louisiana waterthrush, a wood duck and a red-shouldered hawk this morning bring my 2011 Licking Co. total up to a modest 70.

(My "life" Licking County list stands at 191.)

I spent some time surveying Region 60 for OBBA II, "scoping" large nests in hopes of striking it lucky and finding an owl. It's too early to count the three new arrivals listed above (all seen in 60C1CW, along with a brown creeper), but robins are nest building and Carolina chickadees are carrying food into nest cavities. Region 60 covers only a tiny sliver of eastern Licking Co., but has a lot of nice habitat in Coshocton and Muskingum Counties. It should be an interesting summer.
