The recent winds have brought in many early migrants to the Scioto Audubon Metro Park.

The area along the bike path between the overlook and the entrance to the field in succession is full with hermit thrush and chipping sparrows.

A savannah sparrow was sighted in the parking lot of the Grange Insurance Audubon Center and in the forest along the bike path.

Adjacent to the wetland with the boardwalk behind the center ospreys have began nesting on the platform between the boardwalk and the water tower.

Bird banding begins tomorrow and will run on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM until noon.

On Friday April 22nd volunteers are invited to meet at the center at 5:30 PM to assist in placing nest boxes below the dam.

Happy Spring Birding!!
