26 May 2011 Brad Sparks called around 11:30am to report 2 Black-necked Stilts at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park in Franklin County. I just returned from viewing the birds. These birds are in a flooded field on the east side of Darby Creek Dr, south of Kuhlwein Rd and south of the large grain bins. There is a small pullout on the west side of the road directly across from the birds but there is only space for 1 car. If that space is occupied, please park at the Cedar Ridge picnic area to the south, and walk north along Darby Creek Dr. They are visible from the road but be careful because there is some traffic on Darby Creek Dr and not much of a shoulder. I was able to capture some video of these birds copulating.
