For at least the second year in a row, Bobolinks have returned to a horse farm on Starbuck Road in northern Clinton county. I saw eight there this afternoon, as well as four Northern Bobwhite, six Eastern Meadowlarks, and a host of blackbirds, grackles and starlings. Unfortunately, the pasture that attracts the birds is on private land and the owner does not want the location published. Furthermore, it is a about 300 yards from the road, which pretty well puts them out of telescope range even if there were somewhere safe to pull off the road. Kind of tragic, actually. This is the only location I know of in the county that has Bobolinks on a more or less regular basis.
