My wife and I spent some time birding the Battelle-Darby wetlands this
morning. Here are a few highlights:

Kuhlwein Rd. Wetlands: American Bittern, Sora and Virginia Rails
Wetlands (from the silos): Dunlin (3), Semipalm. Plover, Spotted
Sandpiper, and some other shorebirds (plovers?) too distant to ID
through the heat shimmer.
Wetlands (south of the silos): Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, Spotted
Sandpiper, Killdeer, Pectoral Sandpiper and 6 Long-billed Dowitchers.

The southern part of the wetlands can be observed from the small
pull-off on the west side of Darby Crk. Dr., about half way between
the silos and the and the turn off into the Cedar Ridge area.
Dowitchers were best seen while standing on top of my van ;)

We also had Uppland Sandpiper (and a red fox) on the runways at the
Bolton Field airport.

Good birding,
Paul
