Stayed out of the woods today due to in-climate weather. So we surveyed the grasslands a little. But I did hear a Warbling Vireo on the edge of the woodlot. and I saw a Nashville and a Magnolia Warbler on a tree near the edge. The Lawrence Woods grasslands/prairie had the typical birds. Pheasant Turkey Meadowlarks Bluebird Field Sparrows Song Sparrows Grasshopper Sparrows (heard) Blackbirds Vultures And our ever favorite Bobolink. At least 8 seen, more heard in the BG. Pics here: http://sjlarue.smugmug.com/Unsorted/OhioBirds/16108559_K6usy I have had a few people ask about the "secret location" of Lawrence Woods, since it doesn't pop up on the web easily. It is one of Ohio DNR's more rustic Nature Preserves, even though it has a boardwalk. It is between SR 68 and 292 on CR 190 South of Kenton. Here are Coordinates:40.5741, -83.6296 . Have a great day, and I'll see y'all at Magee! Steve J. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
