While surveying several parks in this northwest Columbus suburb, I found a singing Connecticut Warbler this morning at Traphagen Nature Preserve. It was singing in a brushy woods edge right next to the parking lot. Unfortunately, other warblers were very low this morning (6 species); they must all have split for the Boardwalk at Magee! Lots of resident flycatchers have moved in, however, with numerous Acadian, Pewees, and Great Crested at all 3 of the parks I visited. Traphagen also had 2 recently-fledged Barred Owls squalling for their parents; it's been a reliable nesting spot for these owls for several years. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
