I was at Conneaut today from noon till 3:30 The outer spit was flooded with over half of it under water I had nine species of shorebirds with the highlight being a single Whimbrel that flew in calling and landing on the spit The bird ended up moving over to the nearby brakewall before disappearing after an hour or so shorebirds 1 WHIMBREL 1 Dunlin 1 Sanderling 1 Ruddy Turnstone 37 Semipalmated Sandpiper 3 Spotted Sandpiper 1 White-rumped Sandpiper 2 Semipalmated Plover Killdeer also 10 Bald Eagle 1 Great Egret 5 Great Blue Heron 1 A. Wigeon 1 Bonaparte`s Gull 2 Caspian Tern 4 Purple Martin 8 D.c.
