Went to the Battelle Darby wetlands to look for the Little Blue Herons mentioned in previous posts around 10:30 this morning. Found all three hunkered down in the grasses on the west side of the large pond. Was also treated to seeing two of the American Bitterns fly over the length of the ponds being chased by Red Winged Blackbirds....it was a great spectacle! Also seen: Blue winged teals 2 Great Egret Great Blue Heron Northern Shoveler Mallard Sora heard but not seen Little Blue Herons 3 American Bitterns 2 I believe we "heard" a Black rail - can't be 100% sure. Also saw the Horned Grebe in breeding plumage at Prairie Oaks. Got several decent photos. posted one at my website - kimgraham.zenfolio.com Good birding to everyone.
