He does work at the park. I do not have his contact information. In a message dated 5/4/2011 11:12:02 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [log in to unmask] writes: Wow! Now that’s prompt service. Thank you so much, Sue! I don’t suppose you have contact info for Gary? Does he work at the park? The bird has been there all along, normally in the first pond to the right past the entrance. Last night it was in the pond directly behind this pond. Today it was seen in an area that is usually closed. Gary Stegner found the birders looking for it and took them all to see it. He is very nice and is a birder himself. Fernald is located off of I94, take exit 7 to north on 128. Approximately 6 or 7 miles north of 94 turn left at Willey Road. Entrance is on the right after about 1/4 mile. I hope this helps. My brother and I may be able to make the trek over from Indpls today. I was out of town for several days and just now getting in, so I haven’t had a chance to go and thus, haven’t really kept up with where it is being seen. But you mention Fernald (sp?) and Gary’s name and I thought I’d ask if you had a number for him or any other details. I’m kind of shooting in the dark here, since I was gone and hav en’t followed the thread; but is Fernald in the general area where the bird has been seen? Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome! Roger Roger L. Hedge Heritage Ecologist Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Nature Preserves 402 W.
