arrived @ mentor headlands @ 9:40 this morning 53* very light winds from west and slightly north - sunny and feels warmer parked farthest east possible walk included the patch of trees that lie just north of the sidewalk about 100 yards to the west and ALL of the area that has trees out to the breakwall (half way) and to the beach east of the breakwall to the coast guard area and back up the various paths around/among the dunes (if i could walk there, i did!) Gray Catbird - 15+ Eastern Bluebird - 4 Barn Swallow - 20+ Eastern Kingbird - 2 American Kestrel - 1 Merlin - 1 Song Sparrow - 12+ Belted Kingfisher - 1 Spotted Sandpiper - 2 Northern Flicker - 2 Killdeer - 2 Tree Swallow - 5 Yellow Warbler - 7 Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2 Brown Thrasher - 7 House Wren - 1 Winter Wren - 1 Baltimore Oriole - 25+ Orchard Oriole - 1 Caspian Tern - 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 Red-headed Woodpecker - 2 PRAIRIE WARBLER - 1 Blue Gray Gnatcatcher - 2 White-crowned Sparrow - 2 Eastern Towhee - 2 Bald Eagle - 3 today all in diff locations (all Lake Cty) #1 @ 7:50 - 8:20 above nest off of Rt 6 in Will Hills #2 above the nest in Mentor Marsh on Rt 44 (before walk) #3 on a floating log in the bay east of breakwall (imm) buster ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
