7:15 @ Headlads State Park - 61* and drizzle to start which turned to rain then pour by 9:00 when i bailed. i spent most of my time in the area between P-1 and the driveway to the Coast Guard Station today. I did a quick walk along the fisherman's path (one pass). White-crowned Sparrow - 4 Gray Catbird - 15+ Northern Cardinals - 10+ Common Yellowthroat - 12 Willow Flycatcher - 2 Baltimore Oriole - 5 Swainson's Thrush - 1 Yellow Warbler - 10+ Black-throated Blue Warbler - 1 Wilson's Warbler - 2 Killdeer - 1 American Redstart - 8 Magnolia Warbler - 3 Canada Warbler - 5 Least Fly Catcher - 1 Red-headed Woodpecker - 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler - 3 House Wren - 2 Eastern Towhee - 2 Veery - 1 Bay-breasted Warbler - 1 Wood Thrush - 3 Ring-billed Gull - 8 Yellow-throated Vireo - 1 Eastern Wood Peewee - 2 plus the usuals - Robins, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Red-winged Blackbirds (missing were swallows/swifts - rain) after bailing in the downpour i headed home where the raining slowed enough to make me stop @ Chagrin River Park @ 9:20 63* there was a 30 min period of drizzle around 10:00 - walk ended @ 11:40 here is what i saw/heard = Chimney Swifts - 5 Tree Swallows - 12+ Blue-winged Teal - 2 Mallard - 6 Yellow Warbler - 20+ Baltimore Oriole - 8+ Great Blue Heron - 14 House Wren - 3 Blue Gray Gnatcatcher - 3 Willow Fly Catcher - 3 American Redstart - 8 Downy Woodpecker - 1 White-breasted Nuthatch - 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 Carolina Wren - 4 Magnolia Warbler - 1 Brown Thrasher - 1 Herring Gull - 1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2 Eastern Wood Peewee - 1 Red-eyed Vireo - 1 Hairy Woodpecker - 1 Warbling Vireo - 2 Belted Kingfisher - 1 Turkey Vulture - 3 Red-tailed Hawk - 1 Northern Flicker - 2 Orchard Oriole - 2 (mating) Barn Swallow - 2 Spotted Sandpiper - 1 Indigo Bunting - 1 the usuals cardinals, house sparrows, robins, grackles, RWBbs, goldfinches, doves, song sparrows, titmice, crows, geese, cowbirds, blue jays, chickadees (it was raining when i passed bluebird houses - i saw none today, but they're there) buster ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
