Greetings all - The White-faced Ibis, originally found this morning by Emil Bacik, was observed this evening (6:30 - 7:30 pm) by multiple observers, in fantastic light. As Gabe noted, the rich pink legs, pinkish-red facial skin, red eye, and complete white border around the face is solid for White-faced, as opposed to Glossy. Glossy shows a dark eye, dusky gray-blue (dark) facial skin, darker/duller legs, and a very thin, incomplete white border around part of the face. For a very informative short photo article on Glossy vs White-faced, check out: http://birdcapemay.org/times/2009/04/01/glossy-and-white-faced-ibis/ Thanks, Gabe, for posting great record photos. best of birding J Jen Brumfield [log in to unmask] Cleveland, Ohio 330-701-6452 ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
