Greetings from the flatlands,

Early this morning my wife Micki heard a strange-sounding bird singing in the distance. A few moments later she found the source of this song: a first year male Blue Grosbeak perched on a power line near our front yard. This is our first sighting of this species in Paulding County. Naturally when I was just about to go out and see this wonderful bird for myself, it decided to move on! Just another proof of the adage, "Ya snooze, ya lose."

Bird long and prosper,
Doug & Micki Dunakin
