I've been stopping at Frohring most mornings this week, hoping to find a few shorebirds resting there. Very, very little has showed up. One or two least sandpipers, lesser yellowlegs and solitary sandpipers are all I've seen there over the week. Today none. The water is plentiful and mudflats are non existent. But, while there in the rain this morning, I saw a Great Egret fly in. Preened and rested for about 10 minutes and then continued on it's way. A first for me at this location.
