Greetings! Well I went to Loraine yesterday, and did see some birds, and birders :-D. I didn't see any Avocets or Stilts, but I did get to see a Black-Bellied Plover. The rest of the birds were the typical shorebirds. After Loraine, I followed the coastline down towards Sandusky and stopped at every public beach looking for shorebirds and Terns. I also stopped at Sheldon's Marsh and right then and there I decided that both Sandusky and Loraine want their park goers to be physically fit. It seems I had to walk at least a half a mile just to get to where I wanted to start birding. :-D. I saw Kingfishers, Egrets, and Caspian Terns any shorebirds were scared off by the boaters and beach combers. After Sheldon's, I went to Pipe Creek and saw a bunch of GBHs, Egrets, some shorebirds, Kingfishers, Kingbirds, and had great views of an Indigo Bunting. In the end I wanted to go home by way of Jenny's Restaurant in Belleview (great breakfast and coffee, and open at @ 5:30 ;-D), so I went over to Sandy Ridge Reservation back over in Loraine, seeking out Sandhill Cranes...which I didn't find, but I did get some Bank Swallow and Wood Duck pictures. Lots of the same stuff there as everywhere else. Pics of the day are here: http://sjlarue.smugmug.com/Unsorted/OhioBirds/16108559_K6usy Have a great day! Steve J. (Aka.
