There were 2 American avocets and 1 marbled godwit at Conneaut late this afternoon. Unfortunately they are getting ready for the annual D-Day reenactment so you could not drive out on the mudflat. The birds were observed with a scope from the east drive that runs along the marina. I could also see a couple dowitchers and a lesser yellowlegs and some peeps. There were also a lot of gulls on the mudflat, but nothing unusual. It was nice for the birds to have some peace and quiet with no dogs or pick-ups driving through the flat. I'm sure what is there now may be gone after the reenactment tomorrow. I'm not sure what time they are doing reenactment, but it's worth watching if you are out that way John Pogacnik 4765 Lockwood Road Perry, OH 44081 (440) 259-2751 ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
