Perhaps my research could have occurred prior to posting but it turns out the swifts I mentioned in a earlier post were bathing aerially. First time I have seen that behavior. One description I read suggested that there is a bouncing effect as the swifts hit the water. After contacting the water, the swifts shake their feathers in flight to shed the excess. Tremendous.
