Larry Gara and I ran our usual route this morning. The only surprise was the six Caspian Terns at the beach at Caesar Creek. Although Caspians are regular here in migratioin, especially this year, six is a big number. The mud bar at Mound Road is growing steadily and so is the shorebird population, though nothing truly noteworthy has yet appeared. The newly exposed mud is always the furtherest away from the vantage point, which provides challenges. A scope is essential. Also, teal season is on and there are hunters about.
