I stopped at a few locations at Killdeer Plains on Saturday afternoon.
One area in particular
held a nice concentration of shorebirds. There are a couple of ponds on
the north side
of TH71 near the intersection of TH 108. There is a white barn further
north to use as
a marker. The pond on the left was teeming with shorebirds, including,
nearly 40 Wilson's Snipe,
a White-rumped SP, Wilson's Phalarope, and many more common shorebirds.

The pond on the right held quite a few C. Gallinules, and a Sora.

Conditions looked pretty good there for continued shorebird success.

See you on the trails,
