While helping with my son's Eagle scout project, I had a few chances to look for birds at this preserve east of Columbus. The forest was fairly quiet, but the edge had a rush of migrants early in the morning. The area around the planted prairie was particularly good, but most of the edge near the parking area was productive. Highlights during the first hour included:

Vireos - Yellow-throated, Philadelphia (FOS), Red-eyed (2-3)
Wrens,Gnatcatcher - Carolina (4+), House (3+), Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Thrushes - Swainsons (4-5), Gray-cheeked
Mimids - Catbirds (15+), Brown Thrashers (3)
Cedar Waxwings
Warblers - 14 species: Nashville (3+), Tenn (5+), Magnolia (3+), Chesnut-sided (2), CapeMay (2), Black-thr.Green (3), Blackburnian, Yellow-rumped, Blackpoll, Bay-breasted (2), Black&White (2), Redstart (4+), Ovenbird, ComYellowthroat (2-3), unidentified (15+)
Indigo Buntings (3-4)

It's safe to say that the edge was bustling with migrants, especially warblers. This phenomenon is fairly regular here during the peak of migration in September, so it's likely to re-occur over the next several days. Just make sure to get there early; most of the birds had slipped away by 9 AM.
