Greetings-

A Cleveland Metroparks birding trip found 16 species of warblers today between Headlands Beach State Park, Sim's Park and Wildwood in Euclid, and Wendy Park in Cleveland. We were not able to catch up with the Gray Flycatcher at Headlands found by Jerry Talkington and Ray Hannikman today. Highlights included an INCREDIBLE number of migrants at Headlands including nearly a hundred each of Magnolia and redstart. Two GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS (male and female), several Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos, an Orange-crowned Warbler plus Blackburnian, Wilson's, Black-throated Green, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Black-and-white, and Bay-breasted Warblers joined the mix. Many Least Flycatchers, a few Yellow-bellied, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Great Crested Flycatcher, and a few "Traill's" flycatchers were found.

At Sim's, Black-throated Blue, Cape May, Magnolia, Yellow, Canada, and redstart were highlights. Wildwood turned up a Wilson's and Blue-winged Warbler plus a few Magnolias and redstarts but was very quiet otherwise.

Wendy Park hosted Eastern Wood-Pewee, Blackburnian, Blackpoll, Magnolia, redstarts, Common Yellowthroat.

Best of birding-

JB
