This morning was very slow with few birds on the move. The highlight were two groups of swallows, 7 and 4 birds. Unfortunately they passed by fairly early so with the overcast conditions, I could not get any color at all on them. I would keep your eyes open for swallows today. They were headed east. About a half hour ago (12:00) I had a group of red-breasted mergansers pass by non-stop for about 10 minutes. I am guessing there were 10,000+ birds. I saw nothing different in the flock. There has also been a modest flight of Bonaparte's gulls heading west. I should have kept on watching the lake.
