A bunch of lucky folks are watching the black-tailed gull now, east side of river, watching from the grounds of the museum. For those who might not have read Craig Holt's last post at 7:51 p.m. yesterday, it is noticeably dark mantled , appearing (in that light anyway) almost Black backed in coloration , looking as he noted like a Lesser Black Back at rest , though more like a Ring Billed in size . In its short flights , its tail is very evident .
