I visited the Honda Wetlands part of Glacier Ridge Metropark this morning. The highlight was a MERLIN seen flying from west to east over the parking area. It didn't slow down, but kept going as far as I could follow it with the scope. Also seen were 2 migrating COMMON LOONS, about 450 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS (in 3 groups), and 2 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS. I then stopped at the reservoir on Raymond Road, just north of Marysville. I was surprised to find a nice collection of water birds, including 20 HORNED GREBES, 15 TUNDRA SWANS, 6 REDHEADS, LESSER SCAUP, RING-NECKED DUCK, GADWALL, 2 BUFFLEHEAD, and 12 BONAPARTE'S GULLS. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has birded this reservoir, it seems like it could be very productive.
