-I was walking my dogs today in the ravine at the Park or Roses and observed some unusual behavior. I came upon 5 nuthatches in a tree vocalizing very loudly. They were joined by more nuthatches and soon there was as many as 20 nuthatches all calling. Then in came about 10 chickadees and this was followed by 1 goldfinch and 2 redbellied woodpeckers. All birds were very adjatated but I could not see any hawk or Owls nearby. This activity went on for about 10 minutes and then suddenly halted. All the birds dispersed. ---- Original Message ----- From: "Bob and Elaine McNulty" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Friday, September 09, 2011 6:06 PM Subject: [Ohio-birds] Golden winged warbler in Gahanna Woodside Green Park Gahanna (afternoon) Golden winged warbler (female) seen 4:30 PM Blackburnian Magnolia Tennessee Black and white Chestnut sided Gray cheeked thrush Blendon woods Metro Park Columbus American redstart Magnolia Bay breasted Chestnut sided Blackburnian Black and white Tennessee Canada Wilson's Northern Parula Blackpoll Black throated green Ovenbird Cape May Hooded Nashville Common Yellowthroat Summer tanager Red headed woodpecker (adult and Juv) Swainson's Thrush Gray cheeked thrush Yellow throated vireo eastern phoebe Indigo bunting Pileated woodpecker Red eyed vireo Black duck (1) Bob and Elaine McNulty ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
