got some time to stop at the lake this morning on way home from downtown. Rock Hall (North Coast Harbor) 9:30 American Coot - 8+ Ring-billed Gull - 40-ish - all flying Gordon Park Boat Launch 9:50 - 36* winds from W/NW Bufflehead - 5 Horned Grebe - 5 Mallard - 3 Ring-necked Duck - 3 Red-breasted Merganser - 30+ fun to watch this morning, as they worked the bay fishing in a group as soon as 1 dove, all were down not many gulls here today - less than a dozen Euclid Beach 10:15 as soon as i reached the beach area i noticed a group of 50+ RB Gulls milling about (bc of Eagle) Bald Eagle (adult) - 1 was circling the beach heading west Mallard - 2 out a mile or so there were small groups of RBMergs (4-12) frying off to the east - larger groups out a little farther (50-100) were flying west in the 5 minutes i was there i saw about 300 of these birds were seen 10:25 Wildwood (west of boat house) RBMerg - 75+ RBGull - 30+ Canada Goose - 30+ Belted Kingfisher - 1 (east of boat house) Canada Goose - 50+ RBGull - 30+ Sims Park/Henn Mansion pier Scoters - 14 (too far out to ID) Bald Eagle - 1 (adult) perched on tree on point east the pier Ring-necked Duck - 30+ farther out on the water the RBMergs were in flocks over 50 flying in both directions in the 5 minutes watching their movement i saw about 500 of these birds buster ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
