I didn't know how far south snowy owls would go until I received a Christmas card from longtime friend, Jim Hoffman, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He wrote that "Got to see a Snowy Owl here in Oklahoma a few days ago, and that was quite the treat." Jim, formerly a resident of Cleveland, is the person who discovered Ohio's only Ivory Gull along the Cleveland lakefront on December 17, 1975. The bird was present for three days.
