Friday, January 6 - 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This morning an immature bald eagle was observed flying over the lake from the first parking area. About 30 minutes later, 2 mature bald eagles flew over; and the immature joined them flying north up the Stillwater River toward last year's nest. As it turns out, the two mature eagles were seen at the nest on River Road--one standing in the nest, the other on the edge of the nest. Another observer had seen the immature close by the nest. Some skydancing took place and talons were locked ! Other sightings today at Englewood Metropark: American wigeons American coots Green-winged teal Northern pintail Black ducks Ring-billed gulls Mallards Canada geese Red-tailed hawks American kestrel (on wire along Martindale Rd.) Happy birding, Ed and Bev, Kathy Groves, Monte Mercer, Betty Berry, Jim & Jeanette Hill, Dona, Kurt Stein, Brad from Canada Englewood, Ohio ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
