The Hoover Reservoir, Ohio (OHHR) Christmas Bird Count took place Saturday, December 17, 2011. The Circle includes parts of Northern Franklin County and Southern Delaware County. There were 48 observers in the field in 14-16 parties (non-owling) and 16 Feeder Watchers. One new species was added to the circle’s Christmas Bird Counts, an Ovenbird (species 137) that appeared at Inniswood Metro gardens in Westerville in early December and is still there. New highs were established for 4 species. The results were lower than 2010 both in the numbers of species and the number of individuals. Count Week Birds: Turkey Vulture, Gadwall, Red-breasted Merganser, Hermit Thrush, and Fox Sparrow. Totals: 70 Species, 9,740 Individuals.
