A new study on the economic impact of birders was recently released from Ohio Sea Grant. The study was done at six birding sights along Lake Erie , with Magee contributing the largest number of participants. Many of you filled out the Birders Survey here at Magee Marsh as part of this study. The full report will be released to the public soon by Ohio Sea Grant, but the bottom line is that birders mean business. Thanks to all of you who took part in this important study. Also wanted to let you know that our Walking Trail behind the Bird Center is partially closed due to the eagles nest. We will have a scope on the nest inside the Bird Center so that we can watch the progress of this pair of eagles. At least until the leaves come out! The trail will probably remain partially closed until July 1. Happy Birding. Mary L. Warren Wildlife Communications Specialist Magee Marsh Wildlife Area 13229 W.
