Just thought I would pass on this interesting post from a birder in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. And we thought we were seeing redwings and sandhills early. Definitely, not the typical winter. I saw my first redwing on our home pond yesterday. That equals the previous earliest sighting (2004) since I've been keeping records. Sandhills have either never left this area or have been back since the first week in February.
