I made a trip up to Hoover Reservoir (NE of Columbus) today to look for a rumored American White Pelican, but without success. I and others who have chased after the reported pelican have only found a distant Mute Swan in the area where the bird had reportedly been seen. Other birds of note were a good mix of waterfowl at the north end of Hoover, a singing WINTER WREN east of the boardwalk parking lot in Galena, 2+ GREATER SCAUP in the Franklin Co. portion of Hoover Reservoir. For more details, here are three eBird checklists (with photos) from today's outing: Hoover Reservoir--Franklin Co http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S10134318 Hoover Reservoir--Oxbow Rd http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S10134134 Hoover Reservoir--Boardwalk in Galena http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S10134247 Highlights at Greenlawn Cemetery were 2 "RED" FOX SPARROWS seen along the road while driving out, and at least 1 flyover PINE SISKIN at the pond/feeders.
