Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Hi all, A decent movement of birds occurred last night throughout the eastern US with the current southerly winds. Here in the Magee Marsh region, migrants were evident this morning. Along the boardwalk, earlier migrants such as Golden-crowned Kinglets, Brown Creepers, Fox Sparrows, and Winter Wrens (in full song!) were abundant, good numbers of Northern Flickers were moving west along the lakefront, and the west entrance to the boardwalk produced three species of warblers: Yellow-rumped, Pine (vocal), and a female Common Yellowthroat. Checking past listserv posts, eBird and other sources, this appears to be the first migrant Common Yellowthroat of the year for Ohio. Also of note, several of the farm fields in the surrounding area are hosting tens of thousands of gulls. Chris West, Sherrie Duris and I had a couple Lesser Black-backed Gulls yesterday off Howard and Seaman Roads. Sherrie and Chris also had a 2nd cycle Thayer's Gull at Maumee Bay State Park at the inland beach. The Eurasian Wigeon reported off Park Colony Road (northwest of Metzger) on Sunday evening was not relocated.
