Well, it sure seems as though spring is here. Before we get into the peak of migration, and with it, the peak of posts to this listserv, I'd like to remind everyone that it is extremely helpful when you put the general location of your sightings in the Subject line of the header. Your fellow birders who don't or can't chase rarities would be grateful not to open dozens of e-mails describing sightings in distant areas of the state. The name of the county or general region (i.e., NW Ohio, western Lake Erie marshes, etc.) is sufficient. Also, in the text of your message, please remember that not everyone is familiar with your "local patch". If you report a bird that you saw on a specific road or at your favorite park, be sure to give the name of the nearest town, or some other identifying information, as well.
