Word reaches me that common loons are now on LaDue Reservoir; about 2 doz. observed from the Rt. 44 Causeway in Auburn Twp. and a few more on the north end of the reservoir observed from Valley Rd. that runs along the water from Washington St. north.
Also, I observed a loon yesterday evening on the lake at WC Best Wildlife Preserve off Rt. 44 just south of Chardon.

Northern shovellers have been present on the marsh at the SE corner of Pekin & Auburn Roads in Newbury Township for the last 2 weeks.  Numbers reached a high yesterday with 17 present,  mostly drakes.  Private property.  View from Pekin Road with flashers on.
