Hi all, For those of you who don't follow the "Birding Ohio" facebook group, Rodney Crice posted some photos of an unusual raptor that has been frequenting the area. The bird seems to either be a REALLY odd looking Red-tailed Hawk, or an immature FERRUGINOUS HAWK -- big rarity for Ohio! Here's the best photo so far of the mystery hawk: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3201440109253&set=oa.259529804137524 Here's a photo of an imm. Ferrug for comparison: http://www.pbase.com/birdsondabrain/image/132024876 Cinci area birders should consider going after this bird. If you go, PLEASE GET GOOD PHOTOS/VIDEO -- whether it's a Ferruginous Hawk or not, this is a really odd bird that would be well worth documenting! Good birding, Paul Hurtado Columbus, Ohio ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
